Friday Friend <3 Sian Richardson
0This incredible woman is the talent behind the beautiful artwork of my latest eBook 12 Steps to Wellness. Not only is she talented and creative, she’s a blessing to work with and a super cool chick. The first time I saw Sian’s work a few years ago I knew we would work together and I am so glad we finally have. I cant wait for many more projects together.
Here’s the low down on Sian.
Name: Sian Richardson
Age: 23
Where do you live? New Zealand baby!
Current occupation: Free-spirited creative wizard.
Tell us a little bit about your beautiful self.
I’m a designer/all around creative, who works with rockin brands (like Path to Wellness) + businesses to bring their ideas to life. I mostly specialise in eBook Design + Brand Design + Web Design. And I freakin love what I do! Designing amazing things for amazing peeps is what I live for.
I’m living in New Zealand (where I’m from) for now, I got back in September from living in Sydney for a couple of years, and I’m planning some new adventures at the mo! I love travelling around + working outside + getting inspired by this grand old world. You’ll barely ever find me working at my desk!
Why is fuelling your body with beautiful food and thoughts important to you?
It just makes you so much happier & stoked on life when you fill your life with goodness, in every way possible. So good food & good thoughts are a HUGE part of that. Fill your mind & body with goodness, and you’re destined for amazingness.
What does self-love mean to you and why is it important?
Self-love to me means just living your authentic life, and taking care of yourself before you worry about everyone else. You really do need to be able to love yourself before you can truly love other people.
I think we live so much more authentically when we’re truly happy within ourselves.
Tell us why you started your business and what it means to you?
I had a 9-5 job, and I’d been freelancing on the side for a while, but last Feb I just got to the point where I couldn’t hack that lifestyle anymore, and as my freelance work was picking up I just decided it was time to make it my full time gig. And I’ve never looked back! Hands down the best decision of my life.
I don’t think I could ever go back to the 9-5 lifestyle now… I’ve never felt so much freedom in my entire life than I do now! Working for yourself is such an amazing thing, and you have complete control over everything that you do. Nothing beats it baby.
Your top 5 tips to stay healthy and happy?
1. Be sure to get offline + get outside as much as you can. Lately I’ve been loving hanging out in the Redwoods.
Just completely disconnect from technology & the rest of the world for half a day (or a whole one!), and relax. It keeps me sane! haha.
2. Keep it real. Always be true to yourself. Don’t get too caught up in what everyone else is up to.
3. Fill your life with awesome & positive people! It makes such a difference on the life you live when your peeps inspire you + encourage you.
4. Follow your bliss. Crazy things happen when you do what you love.
5. Watch as many sunrises & sunsets as you can.
What are your big dreams, goal and aspirations?
At the moment I’m planning on heading overseas for some travels, and also keep freelancing at the same time. I just want to live a big amazing life of adventure + good times, and doing good work. That’s my ultimate dream pretty much, just travel and see the world, and do amazing things along the way!
What’s your favourite live by affirmation, mantra or quote?
Ah so many choices. These are my two ultimate faves;
Decide that you want it more than you are afraid of it. – Bill Cosby
We live to discover beauty. – Unknown
The first one came across my path just as I was contemplating going bungy jumping, and call me a bit woo-woo, but as soon as I saw that quote, I booked a bungy + did it a week later! haha. I knew it was something I wanted more than I was afraid of it, and it was the best experience of my life.
The same goes for me quitting my job really, I wanted it 100x more than I was afraid of it. You just gotta decide, and do it.
The second one, I’ve loved that for so long… I think it’s so true.
